Episode Title: The Era of Hybrid Work

We’re entering a new era, in which both physical and remote work will be the norm for much of the workforce. Stay tuned for more, coming up next on The Perna Syndicate.

Ep 341 show:

Hello and welcome to The Perna Syndicate! I’m your host, Mark Perna, and I’m thrilled you’re joining us this week. Back to the office or not back to the office; that’s a hot question these days. While some companies have returned to in-person work, some are staying virtual. And still others are trying to capture the best of both working worlds by creating a hybrid model.

The thing is, we all have unique work and home environments and deal with different distractions. According to recent research, one in four Millennial workers reported a decline in their creativity while working from home and would prefer a dedicated workspace again without the distractions of working remotely. Nearly half of Millennials have even said that working from home has made them more stressed, compared to just one-third of Gen-X and Boomers who say the same.

With the advent of hybrid work models, all-remote or all in-person work is no longer a choice we have to make. Some people will always prefer to work from home 100% of the time, while others love being in the office.

What’s exciting about this moment in history is how more and more people can have a voice in how, where, and even when they complete their work. It’s a new era, and this is only the beginning.

Hybrid work, and the seismic shift that it represents, is tremendously empowering for people trying to manage an increasingly complicated work-life blend. I believe we’re moving toward a future where the employer and employee dynamic is going to change for the better. I’m all in—how about you?

Tomorrow, what two things suffer the most when coworkers aren’t together? We’ll talk about it on the next episode of The Perna Syndicate. See you then!
