Episode Title: Why We Should Embrace the Great Reshuffle

Today, everything is being reshuffled at work. And it’s a priceless opportunity for employers and employees to move forward, together. Stay tuned for more, next on The Perna Syndicate.

Ep 355 show:

This is The Perna Syndicate—hello and welcome! All this week, we’ve been talking about the Great Resignation versus the Great Reshuffle. The first term describes the way that workers are quitting their jobs at unprecedented levels. But the second term focuses on the positive things happening as the workforce reinvents itself.

One of the biggest opportunities of the Great Reshuffle is for employers and employees to re-engage on a better level. We need to start inviting more open dialogue that is truly dialogue, not just one side talking to the other. And that can only happen when there is a base level of trust in the organization.

I’ve talked before about how trust is the secret ingredient to make remote teams effective. This applies all the more as we enter the era of hybrid work, where we must make the extra effort to assume good motives and rely on the people we work with.

The Great Reshuffle represents a pivotal moment in the workforce. Companies can dig in their heels and experience it as the Great Resignation—or they can embrace this unique moment to reimagine what our careers can really be.

Rethinking the relationship between the employer and employee is just the start. We can move forward in a positive direction when we take the lessons of the Great Reshuffle to heart—and work together toward a better work culture for everyone.

Thanks for tuning into The Perna Syndicate this week! I hope it’s been a great listen as you navigate your professional life in a fast-changing world. I look forward to having you back next week to cover the skills gap no one is talking about. We’ll see you then on The Perna Syndicate. Take care!
