Episode Title: The Power of Punctuality

Punctuality is so much more than just showing up on time. It’s showing up with your A-game, every day. Let’s talk about it, next on The Perna Syndicate.

Ep 534 show:

You’re now in The Perna Syndicate—hello and welcome! This week, we’re looking at how to engineer a winning attitude at work by cultivating our professional skills. I believe one of the most obvious and yet overlooked of these skills is punctuality.

Yes, this one does seem basic, but it’s actually crucial. Punctuality means showing up when you’re supposed to. It implies commitment, the ability to manage your time, and a base level of respect for the company employing you.

While the rigid 9–5 workday has been all but replaced by the flexible work-life blend of remote and hybrid models, it’s still important to show up when you say you will—and work hard the whole time you’re there. That’s a fully rounded definition of punctuality.

Punctual people are organized. They’re planners who think ahead and know what they need to accomplish. They prepare what they need in advance to execute the tasks they’re given. They respect themselves and the work they do.

Yes, all of us have days where life happens and our plans take an unexpected turn. Maybe we’re late to a commitment or find ourselves distracted while at work. It happens—but punctual people don’t let it become their norm.

It’s a simple question you can ask yourself: Am I showing up when I’m supposed to—and bringing my A-game with me?

Tomorrow on The Perna Syndicate, we’re going to talk about a heavy-hitting professional skill: communication. Don’t miss this episode…we’ll see you then!
